EMSA
The Electric Motor Systems Annex (EMSA) is part of the Energy-Efficient End-use Equipment (4E) Technology Collaboration Programme of the International Energy Agency. Impact Energy is responsible for the program coordination and leads the Annex in cooperation with the Operating Agent Maarten van Werkhoven (TPA advisors, Netherlands). In addition, Impact Energy is responsible for the EMSA Outreach, the dissemination of program results.
The goal of EMSA is to help governments design and implement successful policies and to propagate a global market transformation for efficient motor systems. EMSA is a platform for technical and policy exchange and works on different levels:
- Provides tools and information on energy efficient motor systems for experts and technical staff in industry.
- Collects and disseminates information on best practices and contributes to energy management in industry.
- Publishes recommendations on policy and implementation of efficiency programs in industry.
- Works on and supports the development of international IEC standards for tests and efficiency classification of motors and converters and the harmonization of (IEC and ISO) standards for motor systems.
